Insight GEO was established in 2010 by engineering geologist Judith Dickinson, to provide ground investigation and associated consultancy services of quality and value.

Drawing on 25 years of experience in the UK ground investigation industry, we believe Insight GEO is a fresh, alternative resource with a unique combination of strengths.

Knowledge and Experience

At Insight GEO we adhere to industry best practice and are committed to remaining informed and up-to-date with technical developments, new standards and guidelines.

UK-wide experience means we are familiar with investigating all sorts of ground conditions, from the granite of Aberdeen to London Clay in Leicester Square. Insight GEO benefits from a strength in project management skills, whether it’s half a day of CBR probing or major road schemes or grossly contaminated red category sites – we’ve been there before. The true measure of experience is tested when things don’t quite go to plan. Expect us to be proactive.

Established Supplier Relationships

Because of our established relationships with preferred subcontractors and suppliers we’re able to provide a number of ground investigation services. These range from drilling, geotechnical and chemical testing to more specialist services such as geophysics and static cone penetration testing (CPT).

This use of approved subcontractors and suppliers enables us to resource the most appropriate methods and techniques for your ground investigation, rather than be reliant on what we have available in-house.

The approach works well as we understand each other’s procedures and capabilities being used to working together. And even where a number of suppliers are involved, Insight GEO’s effective project management, which promotes communication between all parties and provides experienced on site supervision of subcontractors, ensures projects run smoothly.

Development and Innovation

We’re a twenty first century company, keen to incorporate and develop innovations that enhance our services.

Technology continues to improve project communication. Skype, video conferencing and smart phones, for example, allow for real time photograph or data sharing from site and can simplify project and design review meetings.

The ultimate ground investigation report is well laid out, clear and comprehensive. We have invested in the latest exploratory hole logging package, HoleBASE by Keynetix, the industry leaders. Reports are available as hard copy and PDF versions and data can be generated in the latest AGS format.
